AKJ - Akhand Kirtani Jatha, USA California

The Akhand Kirtani Jatha is a Sikh organization that actively promotes the Gursikh lifestyle, as taught by the Sikhs' Guru. Its primary activity is to recite the holy verses of our Guru (Gurbani) with simple musical accompaniments - practice is known as Kirtan that is actively encouraged by Guru Sahib. The Practice of Kirtan allows for searchers of Truth to sit together (Sangat) and listen to the spiritually uplifting words of God. The Akhand Kirtani Jatha is a world-wide organization with centres in India, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF AKJ

To propagate the message of the Ten Sikh Guru's, Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and their embodiment Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (Shabad Guru) all over the world.
To spread the light of Shabad Guru through Kirtan, Akhand Paath and Amrit Sanchaar, selflessly (Niskaam) without any monetary reward.
To adopt a true Gursikhi lifestyle which ensures Spiritual Progression, Puran (complete) Rehat, and Truthful Living.
To promote faith and love for Sikhi, Gurbani and the principles of Gurmat.
To promote the glory of Sikh History, past and present.
To spread the message of Guru Sahib Ji through Gurmat Camps, Gatka, literature, and other media.
To aid the Sikh youth away from bad society and persuade them to adopt high morals, creating the next generation of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Saint Soilders.
To persuade society to abstain from the use of all types of intoxicants and non-vegetarian food.
To encourage society to keep their bodily form intact especially Kesh (hair) as per God's Will.
To adopt a simple lifestyle and a simple dress, being proud of the complete Khalsa Bana (uniform) especially Dastaar.
To promote Guru Ji's Sant-Sipahi concept of Sewa, Simran and Sacrifice.
The Jatha follows the concept of Miri-Piri and will always stand against injustice and oppression including anti-Panthic elements.
Monetary aid for the welfare of families of Shaheeds and the poor and the needy.
The Jatha is not a separate entity but an inseparable part of the Khalsa Panth under the sovereign umbrella of Siri Akal Takht Sahib Ji - the supreme authority of the Sikhs. It has no monastery (dera) of its own, nor is it a personality cult.

It should be noted that Akhand Kirtani Jatha (California) does not have a dera. Akhand Kirtani Jatha Sewadars believe in Kirat Karnee, Naam Japna, and Vand Chhakna principles taught by Sikh Guru's. Therefore, Akhand Kirtani Jatha (CA) does not solicit for donations or other monetary rewards.

NOTE: Anyone soliciting donations in the name of the Jatha should be reported to the Akhand Kirtani Jatha (CA) and/or other authorities for fraud.
